Meet Kristyne!
Greetings! I utilize my foundation in Behavioral Analysis, paired with Exposure Response Prevention, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help guide clients skills towards their life goals. As a Latinx female with lived experience, I am passionate about advocating for the importance of lived experience and representation in the mental health field, providing trauma-informed care to those in need, destigmatizing mental health, and utilizing art as a therapeutic outlet. I am also in the process of obtaining my Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling.

My titles are a Behavioral Specialist and Clinic Coordinator for New England Center for OCD and Anxiety, New York. I completed my undergraduate studies at SUNY College at Old Westbury with a major in Psychology and a minor in Community Action Psychology. Shortly after graduation, I happily accepted the offered position as one of the first Behavioral Specialists at the NECOA NY location. Soon after this, I took on the additional title of Clinic Coordinator. Prior to my time at NECOA NY, I worked as a Behavioral Technician and as a Teaching Assistant for children with various special needs.
Through personal trials and tribulations, my own therapeutic journey has helped me tremendously in finding my passion for providing resources to underserved populations. My dream is to provide support and a safe space for my clients, and to advocate for social justice for BIPOC communities.
When I am not working, I enjoy partaking in ceramics and spending quality time with my family and friends. Most especially on nature walks or exploring food eateries. You can also find me exercising, building a neat Lego set, or reading a good thriller or science fiction book!

It is an immenseness privilege to be a part of your therapeutic journey throughout all of life’s wonders and woes. Let’s grow through what we go through, as we learn and grow together.
